Teen Brain Matters for Parents

Teen Brain Matters for Parents is a free 2 hour workshop for parents developed by Professor John Coleman exclusively for Bedford Borough Council.

Teenage behaviour used to be explained through physical changes associated with puberty but new development has shown that other than the first 3 years of life the brain goes through the biggest change in its development during adolescence.

This workshop brings together the latest understanding of neuroscience and development psychology. During this workshop, parents will learn more about the changes their children are going through in adolescent brain development to help them motivate and support young people in an emotionally healthy context.

Cllr Henry Vann, Portfolio Holder for Education said “Parents and Carers have an important role in helping guide and develop their children into healthy and successful adults. Teen Brain Matters is a workshop not to be missed for those that are curious and want to understand better the changes that our teenagers are going through.”

The workshop will take place on Tuesday 16th October from 18.30 to 20.30 at Lincroft Academy, Station Road, Oakley MK43 7RE
