ImagiNation Digital Arts Workshop at Bedford Borough Libraries

‘ImagiNation’ is a reading and digital arts challenge which asks young people to read two library books and then create art inspired by the books they’ve read. This artwork could be a drawing, a poem, a collage, or anything else that springs to mind!

Later this month, there are two ‘Chatter-Books’ Digital Arts Workshops to help readers bring their ideas to life.

Artist Sophie Gresswell will be hosting fun, interactive workshops combining literature, art and technology. Participants can create their own book character and use digital technology to complete the circuit and bring the character to life.

The workshops for young people aged 10-14, start at 9.30am, 11.15am and 1.00pm and each one last approximately 90minutes and will be at Kempston Library on Wednesday 8th August and Putnoe Library on Friday 10th August.

If any participants in this workshop have their own tablet they are asked to please bring them and they will be able to take their digital creation away with them, but there will also be tablets available to borrow for the session.

Cllr Sarah-Jayne Holland, Portfolio Holder for Leisure and Culture said “There is still plenty of time to get involved in the ImagiNation programme this summer, get reading and then get creative. These Digital Art Workshops will be a great opportunity for local kids to try something new, to find out more or sign-up just visit the Library and talk to a member of staff.”
