ImagiNation Comes to Bedford Borough’s Libraries

‘ImagiNation: Turning Reading on Its Head’ is coming to Bedford Borough libraries this summer.

This starts on Saturday 14th July and  takes place with libraries across the East of England, with funding from Arts Council England, and challenges young people to bring books to life.

ImagiNation is a reading and digital arts challenge which asks young people, aged 10-18, to read two library books and then create art inspired by the books they’ve read. This artwork could be a drawing, a poem, a collage, or anything else that springs to mind!

The artwork can then be uploaded on the ImagiNation blog, to be shared with other creative young people across the East of England.

Cllr Sarah-Jayne Holland, Portfolio Holder for Leisure and Culture said “ImagiNation is a great way for young people to exercise their creativity and discover new books at our local libraries and there will be two digital art workshops to help participants bring their ideas to reality.”
