This month saw the 25th Bedford Junior Aquathlon, a combined swimming and running event for young people aged 8 to 16 years old.
134 young people took on the challenge at Bedford Park and Robinson Pool & Fitness on Sunday 13th May, swimming and running their way to the finish line with countless examples of athleticism and good spirit.
Surprisingly after the downpour the day before, the weather stayed fine with smiles at the finish line where the competitors’ time was captured by Chiptiming UK.
Cllr Sarah-Jayne Holland said “I like to say a huge congratulations to everyone who took part in this popular event, and an equally huge thank you to the parents and volunteers who turned out to support the competitors and marshall the course. I hope everyone enjoyed their experience and will come back to the next Bedford Junior Aquathlon this September.”
