Bedford Borough Council to provide integrated Housing register for Social Housing

The management of Bedford Borough’s Housing Register for social housing has transferred back to Bedford Borough Council from bpha enabling a more integrated service to meet residents’ housing needs.

Residents who would like to have more information about applying for social housing or would like to register can now contact Bedford Borough Council Housing Needs Service directly, online or by visiting the Council’s Customer Service Centre at Horne Lane where they can use self-service computers to apply with the help of our friendly Customer Service team.

Cllr Anthony Forth, Bedford Borough Council Portfolio Holder for Adults Services and Operational Housing, said:  “Managing social housing applications directly means the Council will be able to provide a more integrated service to residents in need of housing.  We are also improving the on-line service so that residents will find it even more convenient to manage their application on-line when it is convenient for them.”

He continues: “We have been working closely with bpha to ensure that the service transfers as smoothly as possible. Anyone already registered for a housing application can continue to access their application online via myhomeoptions.org.uk.”
