Get involved

If you would like to help in an emergency there are opportunities to do so across Bedfordshire.

Bedfordshire Local Emergency Volunteers Executive Committee (BLEVEC)

Bedfordshire Local Emergency Volunteers Executive Committee (BLEVEC) is an important and valued resource in responding to emergencies and monthly training is held to help volunteers prepare for the different emergencies that could happen across the area.

BLEVEC is made up of well known voluntary organisations that would assist in an emergency as well as individual volunteers from the community who are not affiliated with a voluntary organisation but would like to assist.

Community Emergency Response Teams (CERTs)

Community Emergency Response Team (CERTs) are a good way to assist in an emergency. Your community will have an abundance of local knowledge which is extremely valuable in responding to an emergency.
