Weekly meetings

Following the sad death of Her Majesty the Queen, as a mark of respect no formal meetings of the Council will take place during the official mourning period.

Meetings scheduled to take place during this time have been cancelled or postponed in consultation with the relevant Chairs of the Committees and the new dates are reflected in the updated Calendar of Meetings.

*** Meetings which members of the public are welcome to attend.

* Please log onto online meetings at least 10 minutes before the start of the meeting to avoid technical problems.

Important information

It has been requested that to ensure that safety precautions are adhered to, any member of the public wishing to attend a meeting should first make arrangements by emailing RighttoSpeak@bedford.gov.uk by midday on the day of the meeting.

For the purpose of a Planning Committee meeting if a member of the public wishes to register to speak on an application on the agenda the Right to Speak Scheme is to be followed and requires registration before 4.45pm on the working day before the meeting (usually 4.45pm on a Friday).

Please note, where a virtual meeting is still to be held the following still applies:

Any member of the Press or public may listen in to proceedings at this ‘virtual’ meeting via a weblink here. A link for each meeting will be published at least 24 hours before the meeting.

It is important, however, that Members of the Council can discuss and take decisions without disruption, so the only participants in the virtual meeting will be Members of the Council and Officers supporting the meeting, unless a third party is presenting an item or a member of the public is speaking on an item and then the participation of these individuals will be managed by the Chair and the supporting Senior Democratic Services Officer.

If a member of the press or public wish to raise a question at the meeting written notice must be given by email to RighttoSpeak@bedford.gov.uk by 6pm on the day of the meeting or at least 30 minutes prior to the start time of the meeting.
