Bedford Borough Growth Plan 2018 - 2022 (PDF) will shape the Council’s work to promote economic development and regeneration helping Bedford Borough compete as a location for business. It will support the growth of existing businesses, secure new investment and ensure local people have the skills to take advantage of the jobs on offer.

This plan reports on the current economic climate and has developed a comprehensive range of actions under the broad themes of:

Grow business
Enhance place
Develop people

These include the work being undertaken to improve our transport network and enhance the town centre through the Town Centre Plan, Transporting Bedford 2020 project, the on-going work of the One Public Estate programme and business support at our i-brand facilities.

This is the Council’s second Growth Plan and a revision of the first which was approved in November 2013.
